Soviet and Russian actor Viktor Lazarev is from Moscow. He was born in 1918 in a large working-class family. Lazarev's father worked as a train driver on a steam locomotive, his mother was a simple housewife.
Victor got into the cinema early, while still a schoolboy. This happened thanks to a visit to the acting circle located in the Moscow House of Pioneers. The first film with Viktor Lazarev was released in 1931, where he portrayed the role of a street child. This film was the famous painting by Nikolai Eck called The Start to Life, which became symbolic for the aspiring actor.
Soon Lazarev grew to the head of the drama club. Later, the guy entered the creative studio of the Maly Theater. Since 1934, Victor performed on his stage. Here he took part in the performances The Inspector General (as Bobchinsky), Mozart and Salieri (as a blind musician) and many others.
After receiving a diploma from the Maly Theater, Lazarev joined the Mosfilm film studio as an actor and assistant director. When the war came, Victor went to the front as a volunteer. After the victory, Lazarev continued to work at Mosfilm.
Victor starred in a huge number of films, but was known as an episodic actor. He is remembered for such films as The guy from the taiga, Singing Russia, Ladder, Love in Russian and some others. The only picture in which Viktor got the role of the first plan was the film Waiting, shot by Radomir Vasilevsky in 1980.
