William Louis Petersen was born in Evanston, Illinois on February 21, 1953. The actor is of Danish and German descent, is the youngest of six children of Helen and Arthur Petersen, has two brothers: Arthur Jr. and Robert, and three sisters: Anne, Mary Kay and Elizabeth.
