Andy Whitfield was born on October 17th, 1971 in Amluh, North Wales. Andy's family was not very rich, and with three children in the family, his parents had to make ends meet. From a young age, Andy began helping his father repair equipment, which made him love this craft. He did not particularly stand out in school, he was an ordinary guy, he was in the engineering circle and "do it yourself." After school, if possible, he went to his father to earn money to save money for college. Upon graduation, he entered the University of Sheffield as an engineer, graduating with honors in 1999. In his student years, he took an active part in the life of the DIY circle, often organized exhibitions at which he and the children sold their inventions.
After university Andy decides to move to Sydney, where he takes a prestigious job as a senior engineer. There he also meets a charming girl whose hobby is theater. Taking over the love of art from his girlfriend, Andy decides to go to drama school, which he also graduates with honors and starts working as an actor and model.
First appeared in front of the camera in 2004 in a small Australian television series. At first, the roles of Andy Whitfield were monotonous, he played side guys in several series in a row. The first major role took place only in 2007, for which he received an award in the category "Best Debut". Andy did not have time to play in enough pictures. The last film with Andy Whitfield is called Spartacus: Blood and Sand, where he played Spartacus. Upon completion of filming, the actor was diagnosed with blood cancer, which he fought desperately.
