Born February 5, 1948 in New York, USA. There, Christopher's father was a British diplomat at the UN, and his mother, Jeanne Pauline Hinds, was previously vice president at CBS. His maternal grandfather was a Jewish immigrant from Russia, and his paternal great-grandfather was a British Jew, Colonel Albert Goldsmid. However, Christopher's parents became atheists, and there was no religious education in the Guest family. Christopher spent part of his childhood in the UK. He studied classical music (clarinet) at the School of Music and Arts in New York. He later became interested in mandolin and became interested in folk music. Guest also played guitar with Arlo Guthrie, with whom he went to the same school. Following his father's death in 1996, Christopher becomes the 5th Baron of Haden-Guest. He regularly attended meetings of the House of Lords until, in 1999, a law was passed prohibiting inheriting a seat in the House. Christopher Guest himself fully agreed with this. Christopher Guest began his acting career in the early seventies in the theater. He has performed at The Arena in Washington DC and on Broadway in New York. In the movie, he appeared in the 1971 film "Hospital", but was not even listed in the credits. Over the course of ten years, he has received small roles in feature and television films, among which are "Death Wish", "Condition", the series "Saturday Night Live", "Girlfriends", "Galloping from Afar". Christopher Guest has appeared in over 60 films. These were mainly musical comedies and dramas. He also voiced the popular animated series The Simpsons, SpongeBob Squarepants, Beavis and Butt-Head and Naughty Animas. Other films include A Few Good Boys, Not Your Judgment, Winners of the Show, The Mighty Wind, and Night at the Museum 2.
Offstage Christopher Guest is distinguished by his propaganda performances. And although he often acts as a comedian, in life he is often gloomy and stern. As Guest himself notes, it is people who want him to be constantly cheerful. However, he rarely jokes unless he is in front of the camera. Christopher Guest is married to actress Jamie Lee Curtis, whom he met at a party with mutual friend Rob Reiner. The wedding took place in 1984, and they have been together for 25 years. They have two adopted children: daughter Anna and son Thomas.
