Born December 19, 1961 - Producer and founder of GK Films. Oscar and BAFTA.
Born in the UK, King moved to the United States in the early 1980s and was soon recruited by 20th Century Fox. Later he founded his own company Initial Entertainment Group, in addition to films, he also produces television series. Since 2002, he has been working with Martin Scorsese on an ongoing basis, their first joint project was the historical drama Gangs of New York. This was followed by a biopic about Howard Hughes "Aviator", for which King received his first Academy Award nomination. The next film, The Departed, earned the producer an Oscar in the Best Picture of the Year category. He currently serves as a producer in films for directors such as Tim Burton, Ben Affleck, Mark Forster, Gore Verbinski and others.
In 2010 he was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
