Was born on December 7, 1955 in Leningrad. In 1982 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School (course of O. Efremov). Since 1982 he has been an actor in the Moscow Art Theater (in 1989 - named after A.P. Chekhov). In 1988 he moved to the studio "Man", was one of the organizers of the Fifth Studio of the Moscow Art Theater. In 1995 he returned to the Art Theater, where he played in the play "Love in the Crimea", and in 2001 left the theater troupe. He played in performances at the theatrical agency "BOGIS" and at the Theater "Satyricon". He made his film debut in 1984 in the film "Detachment" by Alexei Simonov. Alexander Vasilievich is married and has three children.
