The pride of American cinema, one of the most mysterious directors of the 21st century, was born in the winter of 1946 in Montana, USA. From an early age, David Keith Lynch was distinguished by a craving for art, and he showed particular interest, above all, in painting and photography. In addition to the obvious talent, the future maestro from childhood had some oddities - for example, he collected the corpses of various insects and collected them with passion.
David Lynch received his education in Philadelphia, at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts, and already in 1966 the aspiring director makes his first steps in the cinema - he shoots an animated short film called Six Vomiting Men. However, there is not enough animation space for Lynch's exuberant imagination, and he begins to experiment with combining animation and live frames. In parallel with this, he writes a script for a competition organized by the American Film Institute, and unexpectedly for himself wins a scholarship to study.
David Lynch shoots his first full-length masterpiece quite early - in 1976. The surreal and gloomy picture Eraser Head had the effect of an exploding bomb and easily determined the novice director a worthy place in American cinema. The initial skepticism of film producers did not prevent this film from becoming a cult film and earning the recognition of Stanley Kubrick himself, who sincerely regretted that such an original and ingenious film was shot by someone else, not him.
Then Lynch's career only grew, if you do not take into account the unsuccessful fantastic picture Dune, which failed miserably at the box office. David Lynch's filmography includes such legendary films as The Elephant Man, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and others. He also shot one of the most iconic TV series of the 90s - Twin Peaks, and made the whole world worry only about who killed the blonde beauty Laura Palmer.
