Sergey Garmash was born in the city of Kherson, in a family of ordinary workers. His mother, Lyudmila Ippolitovna, worked as a dispatcher at a bus station, and his father Leonid Trofimovich spent most of his life at the wheel. Having received the diploma of a puppet theater artist, Sergey returns to Kherson, where he begins his career. Then he is drafted into the army, and after serving, the guy goes to Moscow - to enter the Moscow Art Theater. In the first year, he meets his future wife Inna. In 1984, the actor made his debut on the stage of Sovremennik, in the same year the first film with Sergei Garmash appeared - the military drama Detachment.
