Lucas Haas was born in West Hollywood, California, the son of American Emily Tracy and German immigrant Berthold Haas. His acting career began early: at the age of five, Lucas was cast in the critically acclaimed film Testament, and Jane Alexander, the leading actress, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress .
Lucas Haas became widely known in 1985, after the release of the film "The Witness", in which he played the role of a boy who became the only witness to a brutal crime. Haas' partners on the set of the film were Kelly McGillis and Harrison Ford.
Currently Haas is also a member of the musical group "The Rogues", in which he plays drums and piano.
