Founded in 2009, Ukraine is a Ukrainian multi-gaming esports organization.
The idea of ??creating the organization was proposed by the Kazakh philanthropist and cybersport organizer Murat Zhumashevich "Arbalet" Tulemaganbetov. Sergey "starix" Ishchuk reacted to his proposal, who was entrusted with forming a Counter-Strike 1.6 team. Initially, the team was named "Arbalet.UA". Alexander "ZeroGravity" Kokhanovsky from Kiev became the manager of the new team. On December 17, 2009, a full-fledged esports organization was formed around the CS 1.6 roster, the name for which was invented by Daniil "Zeus" Teslenko and John "Edward" Sukharev under the influence of visiting the movie "Avatar", where the fictional Na'vi race was. Later, a competition was held for the best team name, or rather, for the best decoding of the abbreviation NA'VI, as a result, the team received the name "Natus Vincere" (from the Latin "born to win").
On June 14, 2010, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and the Natus Vincere team met in the building of the Cabinet of Ministers. It also discussed the development of the information technology industry in Ukraine. The prime minister promised to hold an international Open Cybersport Cup of Ukraine in 2011. Ukrainian players were enrolled in the so-called "Gold Reserve", backed by government support.
The organization achieved its greatest successes in Dota 2 and Counter-Strike. In 2010, the Counter-Strike 1.6 roster for the first time in history won three major tournaments in one year - Intel Extreme Masters, Electronic Sports World Cup and World Cyber ??Games 2010. In the summer of 2011, the Dota 2 team roster became the best at The International 2011 tournament having beaten the Chinese team EHOME in the final and won $ 1,000,000 for the first place (in 2012 and 2013, the "doters" twice reached the finals of The International, stopping just a step away from victory). In addition, the most important victories for the organization were the victory of the Swedish legionnaire Sebastian "Ostkaka" Engvall at the Hearthstone World Championship in 2015, and in 2018 the Paladins squad won the Paladins World Championship 2018, becoming the world champion in this game discipline.
