Born October 18, 1956, Seattle, Washington, USA - American animator.
After graduating from Evergreen State College (in Olympia, Washington), he worked at Willa Vinton Studios in Portland, Oregon, where he learned the art of puppet animation while working on films such as The Adventures of Mark Twain. Bartlett moved to Los Angeles to bring to life the Penny cartoons (with Nicholas Park) for CBS's Pee-wee's Playhouse. Later, Bartlett, together with Klasky Csupo, began working in the genre of plasticine animation. He later worked on the BRC Arts of Imagination, directing projects like Postcards and House of Mystery for Knott's Berry Farm .
Bartlett began collaborating with Nickelodeon when the early seasons of Oh Those Kids were created. From the end of 1993, work began on the creation of Arnold. The "pilot" episode began filming in the spring of 1994 and was completed by January 1995 (shown in July 1996). The work on Arnold was carried out continuously for 6 years (from 1995 to 2001) and was crowned with the creation of the full-length cartoon Arnold! in 2002 (although it was originally called "Arnold Preserves the District"). Due to the lack of commercial success ($ 13 million in revenue and $ 10 million in expenses), another feature film based on the animated series Hey Arnold was frozen. - "The Jungle Movie". Craig Bartlett was offered to work at the Nickelodeon studio conditionally, and after a while he left the channel. In 2005, Bartlett returned to BRC to make a multimedia simulator ride for the Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral, Florida) called the Shuttle Launch Experience. During this 3-year project, Bartlett interviewed 26 astronauts to gather their experiences and actions in the Shuttle and orbit. One of the astronauts Bartlett interviewed was a four-time pilot and Shuttle commander, Charles Frank Bolden, Jr.
After developing various experimental scripts, Bartlett moved to Jim Henson's company, where he co-authored the computer-generated animated film "Fickle Fables: 3 Little Pigs and a Baby" .
In September 2008, the animated series Dinosaur Train by Jim Henson (produced by Brian Henson) will be shown for preschool children. This was the first screening of an animated series featuring Bartlett since Arnold. The episode began airing on PBS on September 7, 2009.
In November 2015, it was reported that Bartlett had returned to production of Hey Arnold !: The Jungle Movie.
