Mercedes Ruelle - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, actress.
Born February 28, 1948 in Queens, New York, the son of an FBI agent and a school teacher. She was brought up in a Catholic style. Her ancestors were immigrants from Ireland, Germany and Cuba. She attended New Rochell College, from which she graduated in 1969.
Mercedes began her career as an actress in the local theater with small roles. In the late 1970s. she performed on major New York stages, achieving great success in the plays I Am Not Rappaport and The Marriage of Bette and Boo in 1985, winning her most recent Obie Award. In 1991, a role in the play "Lost in Yonkers" won Mercedes a Tony Award .
Among her film roles, the most famous is Anne Neapolitano in The Fisher King in 1991. For this role, Mercedes was awarded Oscars and Golden Globes as Best Supporting Actress. Her roles in films such as The Last Action Hero (1993), Dance With Me (1999) and the television movie Gia (1998) have also become notable. Mercedes is married to artist David Geyser. In 1997, they adopted a son, Jake, together. Prior to that, in 1978, Mercedes adopted a son, Christopher, who later became Jake's godfather.
