Born September 25, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio is an American actor, comedian, musician, and television personality.

Started his professional career in Chicago. At the age of 17, he was already named the "Funniest Teen in Chicago" by the Chicago Sun Times.

After a successful collaboration with Second City, Sparks moved to Los Angeles and instantly began performing at countless comedy clubs including The Improv, The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, The Ice House, and Sparks performed at the American Comedy Festival Comic Relief ...

From 1999 to 2000, Sparks hosted Talk Soup on the entertainment television channel E! Entertainment Television. Sparks starred in the famous comedy "Where's My Car, Dude?", And also played a small role in the movie "Bikers in Zombie City" opposite Billy Bob Thornton. His countless television appearances include shows such as The Tonight Show, Politically Incorrect, MTV, The View, Hollywood Squares, and Martial Law.

Sparks has appeared in all episodes of all seasons of Showtime's Close Friends, playing the role of Michael Novotny. He starred as himself in the video for the song Beat It performed by Fall Out Boy.

Hal Sparks's band is called Zero 1. The band consists of Hal Sparks (guitar), Robert Hall (bass) and Miles Loretta (drums). The band was originally called The Hal Sparks Band Experience II: Electric Boogaloo. The self-titled debut album Zero1 was released in December 2006.
