Born and raised in New York City, Queens. The actor is of German-Italian descent. As a youth, he played ice hockey and played for the Villanova University team in Philadelphia until a shoulder injury forced him to retire.
Then Vincent decided to try himself in the acting field. He began studying with theater coach Ellis Spivak and soon joined the TerraNOVA Collective at the Lion Theater in New York. After appearing in several Broadway productions, including Baby Steps, A Match Made in Manhattan and Much Ado About Nothing, Vincent Piazza was spotted by a filmmaker.
