Born May 9, 1964 - American actress and screenwriter.
Sleep began her career as a writer. In 1998, she wrote and starred in the independent film Slam, which won a Sundance Film Festival. Following her success, Son appeared with small roles in the Hollywood films Raising the Dead and Shaft, as well as several independent projects.
Sleep is best known for her co-starring role in the HBO series The Wire (2002-2008). In 2008, after completing the filming of the series, the actress temporarily suspended her creative activity and went into politics, she was the organizer of the campaign in support of the future US President Barack Obama in North Carolina. The actress is the founder of a social program to help rehabilitate teenagers who have been involved in criminal activities.
After The Wire, Sleep had minor roles in the TV series Brothers and Sisters and The Good Wife. From 2011 to 2012, she starred in the ABC series Body Investigation. She was fired from the show after two seasons for creative reasons. After that, she was involved in minor roles in the TV series "Black Mark" and "The Originals".
