Born November 2, 1964, Brooklyn, New York, USA is an American actress and producer of Puerto Rican descent.
Lauren and her twin sister Loraine were the eighth and ninth children in the family. Both girls decided to become actresses and from childhood used their similarities: Lorraine often replaced her sister on the stage until she moved to London. Lauren first appeared on stage in elementary school - in the second grade. In high school, the girl received a scholarship from the Alvin Ailey dance school, which allowed her to get a job in the musical Dreamgirls.
In 1994, she starred in the police drama Undercover New York. Lauren received her first award at the 2006 Film Festival for her supporting role in the series.
