Born March 28, 1977, Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA - American writer, journalist and screenwriter, author of novels about secular culture and fashion.
Parents divorced when she was 11 years old. Lauren spent her youth in the small town of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA.
In 1995, Lauren graduated from Parkland High School in the South Whitehall township near Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA. At school, she went in for sports, participated in various events and projects.
Graduated from Cornell University in 1999, went on a trip, visited: Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Thailand, India, Nepal, Hong Kong and most European countries. Worked for magazines: Vogue and Departures. In the evenings I attended writing courses.
In April 2003 her book The Devil Wears Prada was published. The book was liked by the public, after a while it became a bestseller and was translated into dozens of languages. The book provides a semi-fictional but highly critical look at the fashion obsession of Manhattan's elite.
