For the first time in the world of cinema, Robert appeared in the early 1990s as an actor, playing the role of Danny Ginkle in Adam Rifkin's comedy "Back in the Dark".
After that, Gannaway was talked about in film circles in a different way, soon he was recognized as a talented director and screenwriter.
In addition, from the very beginning of his creative career, he also served as a film producer, in which he also worked in other positions.
Since 2006, a new animated series "The Emperor's New School" started on the screens, in which Gannaway performed in several guises at once: director, producer and screenwriter, and one of the tape's characters spoke in his voice. His colleague Tony Craig, with whom they have already collaborated in tandem on the creation of previous films, worked on this picture together with Robert.
At the beginning of the second decade of the 2000s, Gannaway wrote scripts for the children's animated series Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and in 2012, together with director and screenwriter Peggy Holmes, he created the fantastic family cartoon Fairies: The Secret of the Winter Forest, with which he also worked above the script. The next part of the animated film, which was released two years later, was directed by Peggy herself, and Gannaway was working on the story behind the cartoon.
In parallel with the new series of stories about fairytale fairies, the Disney studio has released a continuation of the adventure about Airplanes - Airplanes: Fire and Water. Gannaway directed the film, and also worked on its script. The main roles were voiced by American actors Dane Cook and Ed Harris, and Gunnaway's voice also sounded in the cartoon.
