Born January 28, 1974 in Halifax, Canada - Canadian actor.
In his youth he moved to Ottawa, where he studied acting at the University of Canterbury, majoring in drama. Later he continued his studies at the professional theater school "Studio 58" .
He first appeared in films in 1999, in the film "Lake Placid: The Lake of Fear." Later Ty Olsson became known mainly as a supporting actor in popular films such as "X-Men 2", "Dreamcatcher", "The Chronicles of Riddick", "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", "Twilight. Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, etc. He also gained fame for his role in the TV movie Flight 93, where he played Mark Bingham, a passenger of the infamous United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001.
He starred in the eighth season of the TV series "Supernatural" as the vampire Benny.
Was married to actress Lyanna Nash; in 2012, the marriage broke up. He has two daughters - Mackenzie and Dagan Hunter (b. 2002).
