Born and raised in East Los Angeles - American actor, writer, and musician.
He took an active part in the gang from an early age. He stated in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that his family has been associated with gangs since the 1970s. At the age of 13, he was imprisoned for stealing a wallet. Until the age of 15 he was addicted to crack cocaine. He graduated from high school, but after that, problems with the law began again. He was sentenced to prison for assault with a firearm. Released at the age of 25.
Trying to change his life, his friends recommended the Homeboy Industries program to him. In 2009, Richard appeared on the TV series Southland. In 2010 he appeared in Bruno Mars's music video "Grenade". In 2015, Richard starred in the American Crime series. In 2016, Richard Cabral and Robert Egan wrote the one-man show "Fighting the Shadow" about the experience as a former gang member who spent part of his life in prison.
