Born May 30, 1951, Dallas, Texas, USA - American actor, director, screenwriter and composer.

Stephen grew up in an ordinary family, from his youth was fond of playing the guitar and was the backing vocalist in the group of the Vaughn brothers (Steve Rae and Jimmy), with whom he studied at school.

In 1969 he graduated from D. Kimball High School. Feeling a craving for acting, Stephen Tobolowski entered the theater department at Southern Methodist University (Dallas).

In 1976 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career in Hollywood. There he led an active stage life, not only acting in films, but also playing in theaters in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and other famous American theater stages. In the cinema, he got small roles in films such as "Bird on a Wire", "Confession of the Invisible Man", "Basic Instinct".

Steven Tobolovski received real fame and audience recognition after the 1993 comedy Groundhog Day, where he played Ned Ryerson, an insurance agent who was a former classmate of the film's protagonist, Phil Connors (Bill Murray). He even wrote the last scene for the film himself, which was subsequently approved by Bill Murray and the film's director, Harold Ramis. By the way, by the will of fate, the former "colleagues" met again on the same set 11 years later: during the production of the film "Garfield", where Stephen Tobolovski was invited to play the role of dog trainer, and Bill Murray voiced the main character - an energetic ginger cat.

Steven Tobolowski's more recent film work includes the role of Sammy Jenkins in the psychological thriller Remember (directed by Christopher Nolan, 2000), which was recognized by many American film critics as an intellectual picture and won many prizes at various small film festivals.

In 2005, Steven became the main character in the documentary project Steven Tobolovski's Birthday Party, which tells about the life of an actor and his friends.

Thanks to his talent and activity, Stephen Tobolovski is in demand not only in the cinema, but also in the theatrical environment. He writes scripts for various productions in which he acts as a director, actor and composer. Including he wrote the music and the script for the comedy "Two Assholes in Hollywood", based on his play of the same name.

In 2002, for his role in the play "Morning's at Seven," he was nominated for the acclaimed Tony Theater Award.
