Martin Stadtfeld was born in western Germany in the city of Koblenz on November 19, 1980. The famous pianist spent his childhood in the small town of Gackenbach. Already at the age of 9, Martin began performing for the first time on stage, participating in various national competitions for young performers. At the age of 14, the future star goes to study with Lev Natochny at the Higher School of Music in Frankfurt.
Martin Stadtfeld only needed 13 years to go from a young aspiring pianist to the winner of the first prize at the International Bach Competition. And two years later, in 2004, the pianist's debut disc, Goldberg Variations, was released, topping the ratings among classical music albums. The album received positive reviews from music critics and was awarded the ECHO-Klassik award. Martin was awarded this prestigious music award three more times in various nominations in 2007 and 2008.
In the following years, Martin Stadtfeld released 11 more classical music albums. Bach's works dominate the pianist's repertoire, including the Well-Tempered Clavier, and today Martin is recognized as the most successful interpreter of the famous composer's music. In 2013, Martin's last collection of recordings was released. It includes JS Bach's English Suites.
