Born 19 September 1954 - French journalist.
At 18, Roitfeld began her modeling career, then she was invited as a stylist to ELLE magazine. Posed as a model for Gucci, Missoni, Versace, Yves Saint-Laurent and even Calvin Klein.
The turning point in her life was the acquaintance with the photographer Mario Testino, with whom they formed a creative tandem. They were the authors of the filming for the American and French versions of VOGUE magazine, and in 1998 they stylized the cover of the first issue of Russian VOGUE with models Kate Moss and Amber Valletta.
In 2001, Jonathan Newhouse, head of Conde Nast, invited her to the post of editor of the French version of Vogue magazine. She held this post for ten years. In December 2010, she announced her resignation from the post of editor-in-chief of Vogue. In February 2011, Emmanuelle Alt took over her position.
