August 14, 1950, Tartas, France - February 25, 2016 - French screenwriter, director and cameraman.
Graduated from the French Institute of Cinematic Arts (IDEK. He was one of the founders, together with Mireille Abramovisi, Jean-Denis Bonan, Richard Copans and Guy Patrick Cinderichein, of the collective (1973-1976).
At the 2009 Cannes Film Festival received the “France Cinema Culture Prize” film personality award for the quality of its work or for its commitment. So they got five: Alain Cavalier (2006), Ryti Pan (2007), Sandrine Bonner (2008), Francois Dupeyron (2009) and Ronit Elcabtes (2010).
Was the life partner of the actress Dominic Faith, who starred in several of his films.
He wrote all of his films, except for "Trezor", which he continued to work on after the death of Claude Berry. He also co-wrote three scripts: with Nicole Garcia in 1994 for Beloved Son, with Frederic Obertin and Gerard Depardieu in 1999 for A Bridge Between Two Shores, with Yves Angelo in 2015 Closer to the Sun.
