Terry Zwigoff - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Director, Producer, Writer.

Born May 18, 1949, Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - American film director, screenwriter, producer.

Director Terry Zwigoff's worldwide popularity is based on low-budget documentaries. The first film "Louis Bluie" (1985) about the American instrumentalist Howard Armstrong, whose stage name "Louie Bluie", received from the fans, became the title of the tape. The second documentary is "Crumb" (1994) about the cartoonist, founder of the underground comic strip movement, Robert Crumb.

Terry Zwigoff's next films were fiction. The 2001 film "Ghost World" is based on an Oscar-nominated adaptation from the comic book "Eightball" by Daniel Close. The oddity lies in the fact that comics mainly tell about fantastic characters, and "The World of Ghosts" is a story with a mystical name about ordinary people.

In 2003 Zwigoff shoots the crime comedy Bad Santa with Billy Bob Thornton in the title role. The film has been rated as breaking stereotypes about the Christmas movie genre.

In 2006 Zwigoff returned to Daniel Close's comics and directed the satirical comedy Advertising for a Genius.
