Michael attended the City of London School for Boys and then studied law and history at a college at the University of Camberde.
Michael is one of the prolific British directors. He directed such famous films as The World Is Not Enough and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Michael Apted is the author of the acclaimed documentary series Up, which traces the lives of 14 British children since 1964 when they were 7 years old. Films are released once every seven years.
From 2003 to 2009, he was president of the Directors Guild of America, then became its (guild) secretary-treasurer.
