Born April 3, 1943, Bath and North East Somerset, England - English actor, screenwriter, director and comedian.

Lynn was educated at Kingswood, a prestigious secondary education institution in Bath (1954-1961), after which he studied law at Pembroke College, Cambridge, where his uncle Abba Even studied. During his student years he played in the amateur theater club in Cambridge "Footlights".

In 1967, at a West End theater, he played a tailor named Mottle in the musical Fiddler on the Roof. Since the late 1960s, D. Lynn has worked as a screenwriter for television comedies with Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Tony Buffery.

Played medical student Danny Hooley in the second episode of the comedy television series Doctor in the House in 1970. He later acted as a screenwriter for a number of seasons of the continuation of this series.

Nephew of Israel's Foreign Minister Abba Even, cousin of the writer and psychiatrist Oliver Sachs.
