Born April 21, 1951, Brooklyn, New York, USA, real name: Antonio Salvatore Yadanza is an American boxer, actor, producer and director.
When Tony was 14, his family moved to the village of Melvern, New York. In 1968 he graduated from a local school.
In 1972 he received his BA in History from Dubuque University in 1972, where, during his first year of study, he tattooed a Robert Crumb drawing on his right arm, Keep on Truckin.
From 1976 to 1979 Danza was a professional boxer. He fought 12 battles, in 9 of which he won.
Before joining the sitcom Taxi, Danza was the head of a boxing gym in New York.
Danza is a member of the United States Republican Party.
In 1999, he received an Emmy nomination for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his participation in the TV series Praktika. His first motion picture in his career was Hollywood Knights (1980).
In 2002 he released his debut musical album The House I Live In, sung in the style of crooning. In the same year he was the host of the Miss America show.
Tony Danza is nominated for Emmy, Golden Globe and Golden Raspberry Awards.
