Born August 12, 1939, Memphis - American theater, film and television actor, occasionally acts as a film producer. Father - George "Spike" Hamilton (1901-1957), leader of a musical group, little-known actor, author of the White Shoulders perfume. Mother - Ann Potter Hamilton Hunt Spaulding. The older brother (from Anne's previous marriage) is William Potter, an interior designer at Eva Gabor's firm. The younger brother is David Hamilton. In the 1940s, the Hamiltons moved to Blytheville, Arkansas, to live with their mother's parents (both died in 1947), where the boy spent most of his childhood. After his divorce from Ann, Hamilton Sr. married a woman named June Howard (born ca.1922), who became the reason for the divorce. According to Hamilton Jr., it was with his stepmother that he lost his virginity at the age of 12. After completing a high school course (and he changed them about twenty-five), the future actor changed several high schools in different parts of the country, but graduated from Palm Beach Lakes Community High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating from high school, deciding to become an actor, Hamilton moved to California, where in 1958 he signed a contract with the film studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
For the first time on television, Hamilton appeared in 1958 in one episode of the mini-series The Veil, on the wide screen, viewers first saw him the following year in the film American Crime and Punishment, where the actor played the main role and immediately received a BAFTA nomination in Best Foreign (Non-British) Actor category. In 1971 he first appeared as a producer - the tape "Ivel Knivel" .
In the late 1980s, George Hamilton created a line of skin care and tanning products and owned several tanning salons. It can be noted that the actor has genetically since childhood such a skin tone, as if he was always covered with a fresh tan. In the late 1990s, a line of cigars appeared with the name of the actor, and a smoking room was opened at the New York, New York (Las Vegas) hotel-casino bearing his name. Cigar Aficionado, in a January 1998 note, described Hamilton's style as "Cary Grant meets Pat Riley." In April 2006, Hamilton became the grand marshal of the 79th annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, Virginia.
