Born January 9, 1978, better known simply as Mashonda, is an American R&B performer. Born and raised in Harlem, New York. She graduated from St. Mark's Evangelical School in 1992. In the early 2000s, she began to shine in the recordings of various famous guys from hip-hop. In 2004 she married hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz and signed to his label Full Surface Records in collaboration with J Records. In 2005 she released her debut album, however, it was released only in Japan.
