November 4, 1936, Prague, Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic) - September 25, 2017, Prague, Czech Republic - Czech-American actor.
At the age of 23 he graduated from the Prague Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU). Already in his student years, he began to actively participate in theatrical performances of Prague theaters. After signing Charter 77, he decided to emigrate first to Canada and then to the United States. There he got roles in several films. Since 1991 he again starred in Czech cinema. Several films with his participation were nominated for an Oscar.
Trsiska also acted as a theater actor: in 2002 he was awarded the Alfred Radok Prize (Best Actor of the Choice of Czech Theater Critics) for his role as King Lear in the Shakespeare play of the same name, played at Prague Castle during the Shakespeare Festival.
