Born April 10, 1958, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - American singer, songwriter, actor and producer who became famous in the rhythm and blues of the 1990s.
Started his musical career in the late 1970s. In the 1980s. was recorded as part of the rhythm and blues band The Deele. In 1988, together with another member of the group, Antonio Reed, he created the LaFace label. During the 1990s, young artists from this label - Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, TLC trio, Usher - grew into superstars of rhythm and blues. Edmonds oversaw the selection of musical material for them.
1992-1997 Edmonds reigned at the top of the US charts, not with solo recordings, but with songs that he wrote and produced for Whitney Houston ("I'm Your Baby Tonight"), Madonna ("Take a Bow") and other artists. Most notably, he worked with Houston on the soundtracks for The Bodyguard and Waiting to Breathe Out and with the Boyz II Men vocal group on the singles End of the Road and I'll Make Love to You, which broke Billboard records for decades.
