Born October 16, 1947 Milwaukee, Wisconsin is an American film producer, screenwriter, director, and actor.
David Zucker attended Shorewood, Milwaukee County High School with his younger brother, Jerry Zucker, and their mutual friend Jim Abrahams, after which all three went to the University of Wisconsin. Long acquaintance of Jim Abrahams with the Zucker brothers served to unite them into a creative union. First, in Madison, Wisconsin, they formed the theatrical troupe The Kentucky Fried Theater, which, after appearing in big movies (script for the film Solyanka in Kentucky, 1977), transformed into the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker trio. From 1977 to 1986, David Zucker collaborated directly with Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker: the three of them made films such as Airplane! (1980), Top Secret! (1984) and Ruthless People (1986). In 1988, Jim Abrahams and the Zucker brothers, with the assistance of Pat Proft, wrote the script for the film The Naked Gun, which became David Zucker's solo directorial debut. Starting from this period, the members of the TsAC trio took up solo creative activities.
