Joey began her career at the age of seven. Her first film, Grace, was nominated for an Emmy. She also managed to be noted in the film "Empty City" with Adam Sandler and "Quarantine", voiced the characters in the animated films "Horton" and "Ice Age 3: Age of the Dinosaurs". In 2010, Joey starred in an episode of the series "Ghost Whisperer" .
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Patrick Heaps named Joey King, Corbin Blue and Selena Gomez as "the next generation of talent." Joey was also invited as a guest for a role in two episodes of "All Tip-Top, or the Life of Zach and Cody" .
Joey was nominated three times for the Young Actor Award in 2009 and 2010, and in 2011 she won it for her first lead role in Ramona and Beezus .
