April 10, 1915 - December 7, 2011 - American actor, Norwegian descent. His acting career began on the stage in the mid-1930s, after which he played successfully on Broadway for many years. In 1942, he changed his last name to Morgan and made his big screen debut. During his 60-year acting career, Harry Morgan has appeared in more than a hundred films, and is best known for his roles on television, where he appeared in the series "M * A * S * H," as Colonel Potter, which brought him an Emmy, and many others. In many films, he starred under the name Henry Morgan.
His son, actor Christopher Morgan, was married to Julie Cobb, the daughter of actor Lee Jay Cobb, with whom Harry Morgan starred in How the West Was Won. The actor passed away on December 7, 2011 in Los Angeles at the age of 96.
