Born October 23, 1952, Columbia (South Carolina), USA) is an American screenwriter, producer, director and actress.
Started as a screenwriter. He wrote scripts for the films "Memoirs of a Geisha", "Little Women", "Practical Magic", "Matilda", "The Perez Family". In 2009, the screenplay for The Curious Story of Benjamin Button, written by Robin Swycord and co-written with Eric Roth, was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
Swycord made his directorial debut in 1993 with the short film The Red Coat, which was shot according to his own script. In 2007, Swycord directed the film Life According to Jane Austen, the script for which was also written by Karen Joy Fowler herself based on the bestselling book of the same name.
