Born May 11, 1982, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is a Canadian screenwriter, film producer and director.
He attended Point Gray School (where he met Rogen) and McGill University.
Goldberg began his writing career when he joined the screenwriting cast of The Ali G Show alongside his childhood friend and comedic partner Seth Rogen. He worked together on the films A Little Pregnant, Superbaddies, Pineapple Express: Sitting, Smoking, Funny, and The Green Hornet. In hopes of getting people interested and getting funding, Goldberg created a trailer called Jay and Seth Against the Apocalypse, which was later based on the movie The End of the World 2013: Hollywood Style Apocalypse, which was released in June 2013. Goldberg and Rogen were both ardent fans of The Simpsons. After learning that The Simpsons executive producer James L. Brooks was a Superbad fan, they decided the show's producers if they could write a script for one episode. They were invited to the Simpsons Writers' Room where they suggested some ideas for the episode. One of them was accepted and written with the support of some of the show's main writers. The script turned into an episode of "Homer the Whopper," which premiered in season 21.
