Born June 20, 1966, New York is an American film director, producer and screenwriter.
Studied film at New York City College and NYU, where he wrote his first screenplay. After graduation, Yakin worked in the film business, helping to develop projects for a number of companies.
He made his film debut with a script for the film "The Punisher" (1989). The next work was the painting "Newbie" (1990) with Clint Eastwood and Charlie Sheen in the lead roles.
In 1994, Yakin decided to try himself as a director by making a film - "Daring" (Filmmakers Trophy at the Sundance Film Festival).
Among his works are such paintings as "More expensive than rubies" (1998), "Urban girls" (2003), "Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights" (2004, screenplay), "Death in Love" (2008), "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time "(2010, screenplay) and others.
