November 16, 1907, Cleveland, Ohio, USA - September 9, 1997, Malibu, California, USA - American actor, director, screenwriter and producer, best known for the role of Mickey Goldmill (coach Rocky Balboa) in the film "Rocky" and its sequels (parts : II, III and Rocky 5), also played the role of "Penguin" in the TV series "Batman" (1966 - 68) .
Winner of two Saturn awards in the category "Best Supporting Actor" (in 1979 for the role of Ben Green in the movie "Magic" and in 1982 for the role of Ammon in the movie "Clash of the Titans"). Twice Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actor, 1976 for his role as Harry Greener in Locust Day and 1977 for his role as Mickey Goldmill in Rocky .
He died on September 9, 1997, at the age of 90 from complications caused by melanoma and Alzheimer's disease, the body was cremated. For his contributions to cinema, Burgess Meredith received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6904 Hollywood Blvd.
