Born July 24, 1971, Victorville, California is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and actress.
Jenkins is best known for directing and screenwriting the 2003 film Monster, which earned her the Independent Spirit Award. Following his success, she focused on her television career and in 2011 was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Director in a Drama Series and received a Directors Guild Award for the pilot episode of Murder. She also directed the award-winning 2011 television movie Five, and in 2013 took over as director of Treason. In June 2017, the director's new film, Wonder Woman, based on the DC comic book series of the same name, was released and received positive reviews from audiences and critics.
