Born October 18, 1974 - American actress and former model.
While at school, she participated in the Fieldston Enrichment Program, which aims to prepare the level of elite schools. After graduating from Westminster School in Connecticut, thanks to the Better Chance program, which helps the less well-off in education, Bryant received an academic scholarship at Yale University, which she did not graduate. While studying at the university, she was noticed by an agent of Next Models Management and after a while she began her modeling career in Paris. Bryant has worked with brands such as Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger & RocaWear, and has also featured in ads for The Gap and Victoria's Secret. She currently has a contract with the New York branch of Next Model Management.
Bryant's debut as an actress took place in 2001 in Robert Townsend's musical Carmen: The Hip-Hopper, where her partners were Beyonce Knowles and Mehi Phifer. In 2002, she starred in the action comedy The Show Begins with Eddie Murphy and Robert De Niro and was invited to take part in Denzel Washington's directorial debut, The Antoine Fischer Story. It was after this role that she was noticed that, together with the combination of beauty and intelligence, Joy helped in her future career.
In 2003, Bryant played one of the main roles in the musical melodrama Honey with Jessica Alba, and also starred in the biographical drama of Mario Van Peebles, Git. In 2005, she appeared in several major films: in the horror film "The Key to All Doors" with Kate Hudson, the melodrama "London" and the urban drama by Jim Sheridan "Get Rich or Die". In 2006, she starred in the drama Bobby, dedicated to the assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy, and in 2007, in the thriller The Hunt for the Hunt with Richard Gere and Terrence Howard.
On television, Bryant has appeared on a regular basis on the NBC series Parents. The show aired from 2010 to 2015.
