Sean 'Pee Diddy' Combs - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Actor, Composer, Producer, Director.

Born November 4, 1969, Harlem, New York is an American actor, composer, producer, director, and rapper.

In the course of his career he used stage names Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy.

In the late 1980s, Combs took a job at Uptown Records, where he was responsible for finding and contracting promising hip-hop artists, including Mary J. Blige, Asher, Lil 'Kim and many other today's stars.

In 1993, Combs founded his own label Bad Boy Records, whose records were based on a very wide sampling of famous hits of the past - which irritated music critics and many rival rappers. A typical example of this is "Come with Me", Combs' recorded theme for the film "Godzilla" (1998), which was based on Led Zeppelin's classic hit "Kashmir" (re-recorded by Jimmy Page himself).

In 1997, Combs spearheaded hip-hop's breakthrough into the musical mainstream following the assassination of friendly rapper The Notorious BIG, collaborating with the deceased's wife, Faith Evans, "I'll Be Missing You" Police "Every Breath You Take" and awarded a Grammy for "Best Rap Duo Performance".

On December 27, 1999, in a nightclub where Combs and his girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were, there was a serious firefight, and a stolen pistol was found when police searched their car. Over the next several years, Combs was involved in incessant litigation, in particular, on charges of illegal possession of weapons.

Combs is often accused of commercializing hip-hop by rival labels and music columnists, as he is developing a clothing line and restaurant chain in addition to his musical activities. When Combs started promoting a new record company Bad Boy Entertainment in 1993, he drew attention to the young rapper and street businessman - Christopher Wallace, in whom he saw talent. Christopher became first Biggie Smalls, and then "Big Famous". His debut album Ready to Die was filled with bitterness and fear. Combs tried to properly promote this album: firstly, it was his first production project, and secondly, he saw no other way to get the guy off the street. During the work on the album, they became friends and then got together with the founders of the largest West Coast firm Death Row - Marion Knight and Tupac Shakur. However, this friendship was short-lived. In those years, rappers were already divided into rappers of the West and East coasts. Their dislike for each other and civil strife became more and more acute.

In November 1994, Shakur was attacked and robbed. The next day he was arrested on suspicion of sexual harassment. Soon Shakur was released, but he already managed to tell Vibe magazine that he suspects Puff and Smalls of involvement in the armed attack. Despite all of Puff's attempts, peace was not restored. In September 1996, Shakur was killed. After that, a wave of murders of rap artists swept across America, caused by the same struggle between "western" and "eastern" rappers. Yet soon Combs and Snoop Doggy Dogg, representing the West Coast, appeared on a television program, where they shook hands in a sign of reconciliation between their criminal-musical groups.
