Born in the USA - American screenwriter, producer and director.
Rodney was educated at Middlebury College in Vermont. Already at that time, he came up with mind-blowing jokes, passed them on to comedy actor Norm McDonald, who used them in various comedy shows, including Weekly World Update and Saturday Night Live (1975).
Rothman's creative career kicked off with David Letterman's Tonight Show, where he worked as a staff writer. The young man was then only 21 years old. And three years later (in 1996) Rodney was promoted to the rank of chief writer, and he became the youngest leader in the history of American television programs. In the same show, Rothman tested his skills in the field of production.
In the early 2000s, Rothman wrote the scripts for the comedy series Uncertain. And a little later he worked on scripts for the television films "$ 5.15 / Hour" (2004) directed by Richard Linklater and "Early Bird" (2005) by Paul Fig. He also assisted in the creation of the 78th Academy Awards in 2006.
In 2005, Rothman completed work on his first book, Early Bird: A Memoir of Premature Retirement. And most recently, he finished work on the story for the horror film The Something.
From 2006 to 2007, Rotman wrote the scripts for the comedy series Help Me, Help Yourself, which he also executive produced. He also executive produced feature films such as The Beginning of Time (2009) directed by Harold Remis, starring Jack Black and Michael Cera, In Flight (2008) by Nicholas Stoller, and subsequent comedies Escape from Vegas. (2010) and A Little Married (2012) by the same director.
In 2013, Rodney Rothman worked on scripts for two more films, the first of which was "Downhole Rematch", which starred Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro, and the second film was released in the summer of 2014 - the comedy thriller Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's Macho and the Nerd 2.
