Despite the family's outward well-being, Emily's parents divorced when she was two; the future actress and her brother Vit stayed with their mother. In early December 2010, Emily gave birth to her daughter Pippa.
Since childhood, Emily dreamed of playing in films, so she was very upset when she failed to enter the theater department at the University of East Carolina (there were no places).
