Mackenzie has two older sisters - actresses Alex Vega (1988) and Krizia Vega (1990); the elder half-sister on his father's side - Margo Vega (1981); younger half-sister and two maternal brothers: Graylene James (2000), Jet James (2005) and Cruz Hudson James (2009) .
Mackenzie made her film debut in 1999, playing the role of Mary in Dr. Quinn, the Woman Doctor. Vega's third role was played by Annie Campbell in The Family Man, for which she won the Young Actor Award the following year for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Actress Ten Years or Less. Since 2009, Vega has been a main cast member of the television series The Good Wife, in which she plays Grace, the daughter of the central character Alicia Florrick. The series' ensemble has received three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
