Born December 23, 1937, Budapest - English actor, producer and director.
In 1956 he fled from his native country to England in connection with the uprising. There he began his career in the film industry, first as a trainee and then as a director. Since 1963, he has directed television films for MCA Universal Pictures. In 1967, he signed a contract with Paramount Pictures to direct feature films. His first feature film was Negatives, directed in 1968.
His further career was uneven: films with box office success coexisted with commercially unsuccessful ones. Some of his most prominent works known in Russia are: The Ruling Class (Film) (1972); The Cray Brothers (1990); Romeo Bleeds Out (1994). Peter Medak has also directed several television episodes, as well as two episodes from The Wire.
