Was born in 1972. Graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin. Plays in the theater. He made his television debut in 1999, and has been active in television projects ever since. He has been acting in films since the mid-2000s. For his performance as Thomas Buddenbrook in the film adaptation of Thomas Mann's novel "Buddenbrooks" he won the Best Actor prize at the RomaFictionFes. For his role in the 2010 film "Habermann" he was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize. The film "Window to Summer" is one of his last films.
