Born December 16, 1984, Oxford, England - British film and television actor.
Graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in philosophy. He studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School.
James made his television debut in 2010, when he appeared in the series Passionate Woman. He also starred in the third episode of the first season of Downton Abbey. In the same year, he played his first role in a big movie, starring in Woody Allen's film "You Will Meet a Mysterious Stranger" .
In 2011, James landed the lead role in the British television series Bedlam and the role of the vampire David in the fourth installment of the Underworld: Awakening franchise. Starred in Anthony Hemingway's "Red Tails" .
Filming of the fifth installment of the Underworld: The Next Generation franchise, where Theo will play the main role, is scheduled for spring 2015.
In 2013, the television series Lucky was released, in which Theo played the lead role of detective Walter Clark. However, the show was canceled after the first season.
In the same 2013, it was announced that Theo James got the role of Handicap in the film adaptation of Veronica Roth's trilogy "Divergent". The first film was released worldwide on March 21, 2014. Filming for the second part, "Insurgent," in which Theo also played Handicap, started on May 27, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia, and ended on September 7, 2014. The premiere of "Insurgent" took place on March 20, 2015. Theo will also play the role of Handicap in the third and fourth installments of the franchise, titled Elligent (March 10, 2016) and Ascendant (June 7, 2017) .
