Born in Toronto, but now lives in Los Angeles, California. He attended Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York on a baseball scholarship. He could go to both the University of Hawaii and Florida State University, but he wanted to be closer to his grandmother, who raised him. Collins dropped out of school to pursue an acting career.
