Born October 18, 1946, Chicago, Illinois, USA - American writer, poet and screenwriter.

He is best known for his series of novels about Sailor and Lola. The first book in the series, Wild at Heart, was filmed in 1990 by David Lynch with the same title. Most of Gifford's work is documentary.
